Expected Outcomes:
1.300 world experts voting on current, relevant, important and immediate issues resulting in specific recommended actions.
2.The development of a “White Paper”; a government advisory document including Health, Education, Justice, and Children Services.
3.Publication of Summary Book of the World Summit 2008.
4.Development of CD resource guide available on website and to sponsor agencies.
5.Creation of series of programs for the media (including television/computer viewing) regarding the findings of the World Summit. Including interviews and cross knowledge that will be gained from the Summit by participants.
6.Creation of programs that will further inform the public of recent developments in neurological science.
7.Provide front-line personnel with in-service available from the Summit 2008 to assist them in working with individuals with Learning Disabilities and ADHD.
8.Create a follow-up program that will allow multi levels of professionals, parents and individuals to continue to learn and develop from the findings of the Summit 2008.
9.Publish in a Scientific Journal the Summary of the Summit 2008.
10.Contribution in furthering the treatment, research, medical approaches, business acumen, development of educational technology and methodology with respect to Learning Disabilities and ADHD.
11.Public recognition and education campaign on helping understand Learning Disabilities and ADHD.
12.Creation of the next World Summit 2010, Learning Disabilities Fact or Fiction.
Impact & Outcomes
World Summit 2008 will create awareness regionally and internationally to effect change. The Summit will enhance research, awareness and the quality of life for those with learning disabilities through:
A government white paper to influence policy and legislation;
A CD and Internet resources for employers, medical professionals and families affected by learning disabilities;
A Summary Book for conference participants;
An article that summarizes World Summit 2008 will be submitted to a respected scientific journal;
Community-based programs that inform the public about recent developments in neurological science; and
A documentary about learning disabilities that will air on ACCESS TV.
